These are two important archaeological sites in AlUla. Dadan, the ancient capital of the kingdoms of Dadan and Lihyan, is distinguished by its rock-cut tombs, while Jabal Ikmah is a vast “open-air library” of inscriptions and rock art that record the history and cultures of the region. Jabal Ikmah has been inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register in recognition of its universal value.
